Blackpool Fireworks from Above, India’s Display

I took the drone out on Friday night for the Blackpool World Fireworks Championship, when it was India’s turn to put on the show. I haven’t flown it in ages, so this was really more of a little experiment than anything serious – but I loved it.

The conditions couldn’t have been better: clear skies, mild air, and not a hint of a breeze. Perfect for both flying and standing around watching the colours burst over the Promenade.

Shooting fireworks from the air is trickier than I expected – you’re juggling exposure, movement, and timing all at once – but the results were worth it. It’s got me hooked again, and I’ll definitely be doing more night flights after this. There’s something pretty special about seeing a familiar event from such a different angle.
