There would be no hero in a film without a supporting cast, whether a lover, villain or background character. The often overlooked and unnoticed extras hold up the heroes and are usually the ones taken for granted until they are not there.
And so it is with the tools an artist uses, not the paintbrush or the canvas but an object that is always there to play the supporting role, used and abused with a history of marks that read like a biography, if it could speak a jury would convict of self indulgence and guilty pleasures, but it will forever remain a steadfast silent witness.
This project is a series of artist portraits with these tools, this time the tool playing the hero, once overlooked and taken for granted it becomes the starlet for a moment to take centre stage of its own
