Northern artist Alyson Leach has been an avid painter from a very young age. After a short break during her career as a radiographer she picked up the brush again after a fellow artist encouraged her to do an Art foundation at Oldham College and then a Textile and Design degree at Bradford University, all the while balancing a demanding career and bringing up a young family.
Alyson’s painting have a unique and distinctive characteristic, the seed of which was planted during her foundation course at Oldham art college. She came across a technique of painting with bleach and was duly inspired by the unique process and has pursued and developed it into her own style combining it with coloured tissue for colour and texture.
Over the years Alyson has had numerous solo and collaborative exhibitions and has shown her work internationally in Australia and Cyprus where she has also had a sell out exhibition.
Currently Alyson paints from her studio at Woodend Mill in Mossley where she also runs regular workshops.
